If I'm not watching FN, chances are I'm watching HGTV. I would rather watch a decorating show where the homeowner has to spend $20,000 than one that costs only $1000. Those cheapie shows are usually pretty bad. Divine Design really teaches me a lot and I like the kitchen and bathroom remodling shows. I don't much care for David Bromstad, the guy in the picture. His designs are only okay but then he adds a piece of his own "artwork" for each design. His artwork is absolutely awful and he has the -insert Gordon Ramsay word- to think the homeowners will want that.

So I hope they don't go to more challenge type shows or have more contests to win a home no one can afford to actually live in.

I like Designed to sell, but I have a hard time believing they do all they say they do for 2,000 dollars.

I know..I watch it and go, "$2,000.00? I want to know where they shop and how they get such HUGE discounts."

We just had three floors re-done (laundry room and the two commode areas of the bathrooms) and then had to hire a plumber to put the toilets back.

That all cost $1,000.00. Can't imagine if we bought paint and new fixtures it would only be another $1,000.00. I guess I could buy inferior products but that would be pointless.

They don't count in the labor, do they? That would make a difference. I've never noticed whether they give credit to certain stores on that show the way they do with some. There is one program where they always show people shopping at the big orange box store. Seems that would be a lot of free advertising and a bargain for the homeowners.

My dad has been doing all of our remodeling... he works for sandwiches , the only things we had someone come in and do was installing the cabinets and refinishing the hard wood we already had, and match it with new for the dining room. The floor alone was 2000 dollars.

We wouldn't be able to do this without my dad. It means a lot to me. I will hopefully have what he has made for me even when I don't him anymore.
