Rep Power: 1 | I'm not cooking tonight. My daughter and son-in-law own a minor league football team (The Ohio Invaders) and we're having another fundraiser tonight at a sports bar over in the next county. It's your basic all-you-can-eat/drink pasta, meatballs, salad, garlic bread and wings from 5-8 PM and then our announcer's brother's band will be playing after that.

Rep Power: 10 | We ended up just making pancakes my sister and I for dinner. Basically because I refused to call the pizza place. I talk to people all day at work and I didn't feel like talking anymore.

Rep Power: 1 | Ugh! Our meal last night at the fundraiser was pretty bad but then what can you expect from all-you-can-eat bar food. The sauce was actually pretty good, considering I don't like spaghetti sauce and so were the meatballs; the ones that come frozen in a bag. My daughter went up three times just to get meatballs and they were gone. I finally went in the back and asked if they could put more out and they said, "Sorry, we ran out." I didn't have any wings but everyone said they were good. The rest of the meal was disgusting. Needless to say, that's the last time we'll have it there. The location was picked by one of the coaches. The last fundraiser we had at our usual place has great food and we raised almost $1000. The one last night we only raised $300. A pitiful turnout. My daughter has breast cancer and is nauseous a lot from the chemo so I've taken to carrying a ziploc bag of animal crackers in my purse for her, which has come in handy often. She and I were so hungry on the way home that we scarfed them all up.

Rep Power: 1 | Last night, I made quiche lorraine, and we had salad to go with it, not a common meal for us but wanted something different. We finished it off with Watermelon sherbet and Pineapple sherbet that I made earlier in the day, very refreshing on a 90 degree day.

Babbo was a wonderful experience too.
Mario was out of town but I did get a chance to say "Hi" to Frank Langello.
Right after we sat down, before the menus were handed out, we were served marinated ceci beans over bruschetta as a pre-antipasto.
We ordered: - Vino
- Antipasto
- Roasted Beet Tartare
- Grilled marinated mushrooms
- Grilled octopus
- Marinated fresh sardines
- Primi (shared 3)
- Pappardelle Bolognese
- Gnocchi in Oxtail ragu
- Goat cheese tortelloni
- Secondi
- Roast sea bass (2)
- Grilled quail
- Fennel Dusted Sweetbreads
- Dolci
- Gelati and Sorbetti
- Biscotti and Cookies
- Digestivi
- Nardini Grappa
- Lemoncello
By the time we got to the Blue Note to see Faddis, there was no room for us, so that one event was a wash-up. Overall, great day and evening.
