The rising cost of milk hasn't stopped people from eating ice cream, though parlors are beginning to see gradual profit decreases.
Ice cream parlors around Franklin County are dealing with the same price increases as consumers, and they have been raising prices by dimes and quarters since the ice cream season began. Historic Texas Lunch, on Lincoln Way, Chambersburg, now pays around $10 per gallon for the milk that goes into its ice cream. Co-owner Mike Kalathas raised his prices by 50 cents earlier this year, but has yet to see a significant decrease in customers.
