Basil
A pack of basil seed costs a dollar and you'll soon have enough plants to share with your best basil-loving buddies. Start in one big pot, wet the dirt, cover with Saran Wrap and put in a sunny window. When the seedlings are a couple inches tall, transplant them to small individual pots, which seems to inspire them to grow like crazy. Transplant to bigger pots and you'll have basil nearly year-round. To keep them producing, pinch the flowers.

Hugh basil crop this year. Hung it in the garage to dry....a full wheel-barrel load. You talk of a basil smell.

I'm growing some in my 'salad bowl' on the patio. Have basil, Italian parsley, curly parsley, chives and thyme. Earlier I had all kinds of greens growing in the bowl, but once they were finished (and they were delicious, I might add) I thought I'd go for herbs. They are doing great.

My brother had a lot this year too, he has a dehydrator to dry it.

Will basil grow in really hot and humid environments?
