Rep Power: 10 | I like Chinese food, but I tend to Americanize it more if I make it at home. Once I get that wok I am going to try and get better at making it.
A lot of Chinese food is very salty though. I guess it's the soy sauce.

Rep Power: 10 | I will have to try the low sodium kind.
Cyberdoc needs to share recipes if he's going to tell us such things.

Rep Power: 1 | Great article!
I would say most of the Chinese food you find here in the US is not real Chinese. Almost all of it is a westernized version of something remotely Chinese. One thing in that article that stands out is the comments on vegetables. I've never seen my mother serve veggies as a side dish before. In every meal my mom would make, half of it was some kind of veggie or a mix of them. In our house we were not allowed to pile loads of meat or fish on the plate and ignore the veggies. |

Rep Power: 10 | I like egg rolls but they probably aren't authentic here. And they probably aren't the best thing for you since they are deep fried, certainly not diet food, but they are tasty.

Rep Power: 1 | Yea I like making viet. and thai. food more than Chinese... Not that I like eating them more cause I love all oriental food!!.. Yea I use the low sodium soy sauce too..When we make oriental food usually the soup or rice is the main part with the veggies being a large part and the meat being almost a seasoning for the rice or soup... we had clear chicken soup with shrimp and veggies last night with an egg roll...mmm.

Rep Power: 10 | Isn't it great how food is one thing that can bring many cultures together? It's like tasting the world when we try things from other countries.
