Rep Power: 4 | Green peppers from garden inspire recipe for round steak
The green pepper plants in our backyard "pot garden" are almost as prolific as the tomato plants. So with three or four fresh peppers a day coming in the kitchen, I look for ways to use them. Stuffed bell peppers are a favorite with ham, shrimp, ground beef or just leftovers. Another favorite recipe is one Dot Steen and I found several years ago in a Cecily Brownstone column. We worked with it, modified it slightly and came out with a main dish you can't beat. Green peppers from garden inspire recipe for round steak
Round steak is a bit of the past in this family.

Rep Power: 10 | I prefer the cubed or "bucket" steaks. Although I haven't seen them do the bucket since I was a kid. I even remember what the bucket looked like. |

Rep Power: 4 | I think it's just referring to what we call cubesteak here. Why can't you eat sour cream?

Rep Power: 10 | Allergic. Makes my mouth, tongue and throat sore.
It is cubed steak. The store butcher shops here used to put it in a paper bucket (think smaller takeout fried chicken container) stacked with paper between. I haven't seen it that way in years though. |

Rep Power: 10 | I like sour cream. It just doesn't like me.
I usually just fix cubed steak in a brown gravy. My daughter loves the gravy for mashed potatoes. It's a big winter comfort meal here. |

Rep Power: 3 | I do my cube steak in the brown gravy and with onions - like Paula did on Throwdown. And, of course you have to have mashed potatoes and some good bread to mop up the gravy with. |

Rep Power: 4 | Mom use to make it all the time and I know my kids would like it as well. Not sure why I don't. Hec, I loved it.
Btw...I really need a definition of comfort food.
