The purpose of the Clicker forum.

I wanted to take a moment and outline the intention of this forum. The Clicker is intended to be a social form for the members. I would like to keep it relevant to the members and things in their lives. And a way for us to get to know the new members and build friendships with the regulars. Not just a forum to post anything. Please post things that you are interested in or may impact other members, For instance....

The weather is a good topic. All of us stand a shot of weather from one place becoming our own weather as it moves.

Some guy in Arkansas just built the world's largest umbrella is not a good topic. Unless you personally go stand under the umbrella and wish to share the experience.

Paris Hilton bought a new dress ... not a good topic.
You need to buy a new dress because your son is getting married and want to share the short list of choices ... good topic.

Some guy in Utah fell out of an Airplane and survived ... not a good topic.
YOU fell out of an airplane and survived .... good topic.

No politics, no government issues anywhere on the forum, you agreed to that when you registered. And if it's a topic that makes people fight over the subject of the story ... don't try and bring the fight here.
    Examples:
    Smoking Bans
Someone found guilty/innocent of a crime.

Some hobby you personally are interested in or something you are watching on another channel and want to find others who are, good topics.

I am watching American Idol or some other show ... anyone else watching? ... good topic
I play in a band ... good topic
I collect figurines... dolls ... train memorabilia. All good topics.

You saw where someone else does any of those things on the news .... bad topic.

In other words this is a forum to share and this is a social site, not a news board for every topic. The Food Network and general Food News is our main focus.

Try and make this your happy place. Come here when you don't want to worry about what's going on in the rest of the world for a little while, unless it impacts our friends here, then we will all laugh or cry together. Make this a place we can all come to get away from the rest of the world. Like a nice dinner with friends.

Is what book we are reading, as long as it is not a political book, a good topic?

I LOVE family history? Anyone else?

That's fine if it's not political, I love hearing about what the members are doing. Fun stuff you enjoy is always good. Even the silly quiz sites and stuff like that. It's a good way for us to get to know each other. We can find out what's going on in the regular non food network news on other sites.

I love to read! So, has anyone read the Twilight series? The movie Twilight comes out in November. I know it is not a typical adult read, but it was terrific!

On a different subject, any one related to Mayflower decendents?
