Hurricane Paloma
Well we have another major hurricane, Paloma. Paloma is currently a Cat 4 with 115kt sustained winds, and could strengthing a bit more before hitting Cuba (Those poor folks just can't get a break). Once Paloma gets into the Bahamas, things start getting a wee bit murky. In fact the models are all over the place on the projected track. The trough that is pushing Paloma northeast, lifts out of the way which could cause Paloma to boomerang. The good news is that crossing Cuba will cause Paloma to weeken, and once in the Bahamas Paloma will move into an area of increasing shear, and lower Sea Surface temps, and lower Ocean Heat content. This make significant re-strengthening unlikely. Stay tuned for more.
