I don't know if any of y'all watch this show on the Travel Channel, but the location for the new episode this coming Wednesday is here in Charleston. I didn't even know that they were here filming for they usually have notices of things like this in the paper. Guess I missed it.

Episode Description
Adam travels to Charleston, SC, for a big serving of Southern charm and Lowcountry cuisine, including oysters served by the shovel, a fried chicken sandwich smothered in sausage gravy and a spicy tuna sushi challenge.
The place were the oysters are served by the coal shovelful has got to be Bowen Island Restaurant. The DH and I have eaten there quite a few times. Not the oysters (hate them) but the shrimp. The place is 63 years old and has received (2006) a James Beard Award, honoring it as an American Classic Resturant. The orginal building was a old cinder block building that had been a shrimp house were shrimp were brought in to be processed by the present owner of the resturant grandparents. But in 2006 (just a short time after receiving the award) the place burned down to the ground due to a kitchen fire. They did rebuild, but it's not the same as the old place. It's a place were mainly the locals went, for most toursits would take one look at the place (if they ever found it) and would turn around and leave for it was dumpy looking and I guess you would call it a dive. But man oh' man, do they have some of the best seafood around!
One time he had his mother on the show and she stated to him that she was concerned with all the stuff he eats. His reply was something like, "Mom, it's my job!"
Sometimes I think he's hollow from the neck down to be able to eat all that he does. Either he exercises or has a good metabolism (or both), because he hasn't seem to gain any weight while doing the show.

Those kind of people usually have it catch up with them someday when they back off the exercise and the metabolism begins to slow.
The DH loves to eat and is a big eater... he eats and snacks all day long. He's almost 60 and it still hasn't caught up with him. He's 5'11" and stays 165 lbs. Wish I was like that.

But is he active? I have an uncle that was all muscle and thin as a rail when I was growing up, but he started having health problems in his later years and if anyone had told me he would weigh what he does now when I was a kid I would have called them a liar. But he's a big guy now. If your age or health declines so you can't do the things you used to I guess it's worse.
He and Augie take about a 1 mile walk around the neighborhood each day if it's not raining or way too hot. But, most of the time he's parked in front of the computer and before he retired, his job kept him behind a desk. I've always told him that he's a tape worm in a human skin!

When I was younger I remember my Uncle putting in the stone fireplace we used to have and he was laying mortar with one hand and eating his sandwich with another, wouldn't even stop to eat.
