What Do You Make of This?

I hope my neighbors aren't on the board. We came home last night and this is what we saw in the alley. It looks like 24 boxes of bottles of shortening. Yesterday was garbage day and the garbage men didn't take it. The thing is if you have anything extra that doesn't fit into your garbage can you need to put a sticker on it. Usually they put stuff out without the sticker and the men take it anyway. Not this time though, thats a whole lot of extra stuff to expect to get taken away for free. I hope they're not going to be there all week now but it probably will be. We keep trying to come up with why they are just now throwing out all this shortening.

Maybe they have one (or 2) of those big deep fryers. The kind people use to fry turkey, or do the big fish fry meals.

You have to wonder.....why? Maybe it was a great sale and they couldn't resist. Now it has expired and needed to get rid of it.

Maybe it's something we don't want to know about.

My dad would ask them, he's nosy.

I thought I read, seen, watched looked at, maybe on the news, not sure where I seen it but I thought it was in the Chicago area about a company that was going around and picking up the used cooking oil from restaurants or if people called them, and recycling it it in to diesel fuel, maybe it wasn't in Chicago. I think there is a company or a person here in Houston that does that, but he has them bring it to him for a free car wash.

Well I wish someone would pick it up. I hope it won't attract critters.

Yep, like wrestling in a pool of oil instead of a pool of Jello or mud.

Yeah there comes a point with that quantity where you have to wonder if it was errr shall we say "recreational".

I remember a news story a while back about a man who had stolen a bunch of petroleum jelly from a drug store and the cops found him in a hotel room later. After that the story becomes improper for this website.
