How Often Do You Eat Out?

..and, when you do go out to eat, is there one place your frequent more than others?

We enjoy Mexican, Japanese and Chinese food, and of course, Northwest cuisine.

We occasionally go out for Italian food, but being Sicilian, I tend to prefer my own cooking style.

Maybe once a month. We don't have many upscale or even mom and pop places (unless it's something like a truck stop or hot dog place) so the chains are about all we have to choose from. My husband likes the Olive Garden and the kids will eat there too, so we go there and places like the Outback or TGI friday's. I think that's one of the reasons I love the Food Network, I learn how to do a lot of special things at home you just can't find around here.

When I worked in Philly I ate out a lot.
Now hardly at all.....maybe once every 2 months. My wife is a picky eater and doesn't like spicy stuff. Occasionally I time my chores so that I just happen to be near a Chinese or Mexican place at dinner time!

Queenie doesn't care, she is very happy with her ham sandwiches.

Yeah I couldn't get her to go to a Mexican place when we were in Pittsburgh either.

Now that school is back in session we'll be eating dinner out a lot. My brother and I have class on Monday and Thursday my Dad has class so those two days are automatically messed up as far as dinner goes and we end up eating out a lot of those days. And also sometimes I pick up something on my way out of work.

I eat out way more than I should. While we have a zillion and one restaurants to choose from around here, most of them are chains. My favorites are Carrabbas and Ruby Tuesday. I simply adore their salad bar. We do have a few really good local restaurants around here including a few hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants with the cheapest food and best margaritas in town! I love those. We also have a rather good seafood restaurant that was much better before they realized how good the food was. They now have two locations, but both are a bit of a drive.

I see Carrabbas when we travel but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. It's on the list though.
