If I wanted everything given to me, then I'd be out on the streets begging for it.

I'm totally independant and I can support myself without handouts. If there is something that I want, then I'll buy it.

If you're speaking of the food stamp program and the free health care program, yes, I once was a recipient of them both because I had a very rough time trying to find a job.

If being on disablity is a gov't handout, then I'm not sure because that's something that is earned while you work, as money is put aside for that purpose should you become disabled in some way and can't do any hard labor, as you already know.

There IS however, an annual summer event that Boston calls the Scouper Bowl, in which you pay a small donation toward the Jimmy Fund to get in, but you are allowed to eat all the ice cream that you can possibly eat to your heart's content. As though you are at a buffet restaurant.
