Starbucks opens first coffee shop in Russia

Starbucks opened its first coffee shop in Russia on Thursday, two years after it won a legal battle to protect the right to its brand in the fast-growing Russian market.
"This is an important step for the company, and we are looking forward to being a part of every day life for Russians," said Cliff Burrows, president of Starbucks Europe, Middle East and Africa, as he opened the cafe

At least WV beat Russia getting a Starbucks.

We have a Starbucks on every block (well, at least it seems like that). We have Starbuck kiosks in grocery stores, and then you walk outside and there is a Starbucks two doors away in the same strip mall! I never understood that.

It is said that if you have a Starbucks near your home, you live in a very nice neighborhood. They are very particular about where they place their stores. The realtors out here even use that as a selling point. Who would have ever thought a coffee shop would influence home sales?

We have maybe 5 or 6 in the whole state unless they have put some in I am not aware of I think I can list them.

2 have been in rest stops along the interstate. They have been here the longest, but unless you are traveling, they aren't very accessable. We think those were put in for people who couldn't make it thru the state without having them there.




1 in the Mall downtown has most recently been added.




1 in an area hospital.



And I think both Marshal University and WVU have at least one in close proximity to each school.



When we go to other States we make a game out of counting them, because you couldn't do that here they are all miles away from each other. But hey at least we have them now and we beat Russia.
