Pat and Gina Neely on Cookin' and Lovin'
Is 'Down Home with the Neelys' a show about cookin' or lovin'? It's a question that Memphis barbecue baron Pat Neely, who stars on the Food Network cooking show with his wife and business partner, Gina, has been asked numerous times by viewers. The easy answer is it's about cooking. It is a cooking show, after all. But as the Neelys, who are loving and playful with each other on their hit show, learned on their recent 17-city book tour, their relationship inspires their fans as much as their delicious Southern food.

There's something so fake about their show. I predict, they will be the next Jon and Kate. One day lovin', next day fightin'.
On a side note - remember when they had the FN holiday special last year and Alton cooked with the Neelys? He was SOOOOOOO terribly uncomfortable with them (and they with him, for some odd reason). It was painful to watch. I WONDER what was goin' on that we weren't privvy to???

Oh dear. I hope not.
Alton often seems uncomfortable when he's on other shows. The Emeril live he did, I thought Emeril was going to tie him to a chair or something just to calm him down.

I dunno, maybe it was Alton - he has said that he is "painfully shy" - hard to imagine huh??

But even Jon and Kate were married for 10 years - and now look how ugly it is.
I hope for the best, but the pessimist in me says, "nuh uh."
I don't get this, cats don't like to sit, rock? HUH? I'm not a cat person - my bf can attest to this as I fend off his two black kitter katters.

It's an old saying in the South. The room is full of rocking chairs and the long-tailed cat is worried about getting his tail rocked on by one of the rocking chairs... therefore making him/her constantly vigilant and afraid of getting his/her tail squashed. It refers to someone who is edgy, nervous or jumpy.
Some other Southern sayings:
- As scarce as hen's teeth
- So dull he couldn't cut hot butter with a knife
- Full as a tick
- Plumb tuckered out
- A good attitude is like Kudzu - it spreads
