Bam! Emeril Lagasse loses his TV show on Food Network
Bam! Emeril Lagasse loses his TV show on Food Network
Emeril Lagasse
The Food Network is putting out the flame under "Emeril Live."
The once red-hot series built around famed chef Emeril Lagasse will end production Dec. 11, the network revealed Monday.
Word of the show's end came as Lagasse's rep and Food Network executives were hashing out a new deal.
His current pact expires in the spring. But, as reported here last month, Lagasse's future at the Food Network includes no new series but could involve specials.
"Emeril Live," which has Lagasse cooking before a crowd, had been the network's main dish for years. But in the past year, ratings have been stagnant. A move to a new time period earlier this year did little to boost the audience.

I liked The Essence of Emeril better. Less talking and no goofy comments or expressions. I know they are told what to do, but that was getting old. Emeril shouldn't be blamed, they need a better approach to making his talent shine.

I hope they are coming up with something new for him, he is certainly one of my personal favorites. Emeril is the Food Network to me.

Poor Emeril

Just because he's been on for 10 years, dosen't mean you should cancel it.

Let's face it. Nothing good will come of this. I like Emeril fine but I'm not a big fan. I watch Emeril Live once in a while but not often. However, I can honestly say I don't think he should be cancelled and it does not bode well. None of us like the direction FN is taking. This is another step in the WRONG direction.

Emeril got me watching food network to begin with. Although I found that I enjoyed other shows more than his, he still got me into it.
