I watched Emeril last night and he said something pretty telling. He was having to wash his hands a lot and to do that he had to run across the set each time. He complained "Twelve years and I still can't get a sink on this side. They're flying people all over the place and I can't get a sink." I believe this episode was from 2006 (it was on ethnic food of Queens.) I don't know who was flying around at that time other than RR but Emeril was not pleased.
I remember he started washing his hands on camera when that woman on the Sopranos said he never washes them, that used to be something they did off camera.
