On stage at the Arsht Center: Jacques Pepin, Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert. Jacques Pepin showed Eric Ripert a thing or two in a friendly cook-off at the Arsht Center Celebrity Chef series Friday night. With nine minutes to go on the 30-minute clock, Pepin, who found time to make dessert in addition to the two dishes he and Ripert were expected to prepare, proclaimed: "Do we have to wait until the end or can we start plating?"

Chef Gordon Ramsay is turning FOX into the other food network.

FOX has ordered up a third series featuring the hotheaded Scottish chef. This one is an adaptation of the culinary competition "MasterChef," in which amateur cooks compete for the title of the best non-professional chef in the country. Think of it as "Top Chef" for home cooks or a food-based "American Idol."

Gordon Ramsay might be able to take the heat in the kitchen but when Simon Cowell remarked on his deep facial lines, the celebrity chef decided enough was enough.

"My mother said they were smile lines," the Michelin-starred chef told Britain's Radio Times magazine, referring to the deep grooves on his chin. "I could deal with that at 21, but not at 42."

Then I opened it, It was Gordon Ramsay Cooking for Friends. Looks like it will be interesting. I know a lot of you dislike him for Hells Kitchen and his language but you really ought to check out some of his cook books, and his cooking videos on the web, he is nothing at all like what you see on Hells Kitchen, and the dishes well are phenomenal.
