Lesaffre Yeast Corporation and Red Star Yeast to Be Featured on the Food Network's "Unwrapped"
Milwaukee -

MILWAUKEE - Lesaffre et Cie, for more than 150 years the world leader in yeast research technology and manufacturing, and Red Star Yeast, one of America's oldest and most trusted yeast brands, today announced that both companies would be featured on the Food Network's program, "Unwrapped." The episode, initially airing November 2nd, takes a behind-the-scenes look at one of the major companies in the baking and consumer baked goods industry, and its products.

To compose the segment, producers from the network's flagship show spent a day at the Lesaffre Baking Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The network captured numerous aspects of the Baking Center, including the variety of high-tech equipment available to artisan bread makers and the wide variety of yeast produced by the companies, which are available to professional, commercial and home bakers worldwide.

The Food Network's "Unwrapped," hosted by Marc Summers, uncovers behind-the-scenes details on classic American food, from peanut butter and chocolate syrup to French fries and bubblegum. Other companies and products which will be featured on the November 2nd program include Sara Lee Pound Cake and Frito Lay Baked Cheetos.

Lesaffre and Red Star Yeast can be found at numerous supermarkets and fine food stores across the country, including Wal-Mart, Kroger, Safeway and Costco. For the professional and commercial baker, Lesaffre produces a line of fresh and dry yeast, and for the home baker, Red Star produces active dry yeast as well as instant and fast-rising yeast.
