Rep Power: 2 | Oh, I LOVED watching 2 Fat Ladies! I really like Yan Can Cook and East Meets West.
I really, really liked the Frugal Gourmet when it was on PBS many moons ago. And Jacques and Claudine was a favorite too.
Ah, memory lane! LOL!
I'd love to see a show, similar to what the Deen boys do, that focuses on all of the foods that cities are famous for and then shows you how to make it at home. I guess that would be a combo of Road Tasted + Tyler's Ultimate?
I love the pet food idea for a show.
I really like the concept of Sandra Lee's show, but not so much all of the prepared foods she uses - too many preservatives for me. I'd like to see the decorating and food come together, but using less prepackaged and more from scratch.
There's not really a "dessert" show that shows baking or pastry making from scratch.
And, of course...my ultimate dream would be to see a cooking show for and staring kids teaching other kids how to cook! |

Have you ever seen the movie Mr. Mom where he goes grocery shopping and asks for ham, she starts listing all the different kinds so he changes to cheese, which of course there are even more types of.
Have them explain what they buy and why it's best for a certain recipe or meal. Then have them show what they make with the product of the day. | There's a show called "Take Home Chef" on a competing network (TLC) that parallels your wishes pretty closely.

Rep Power: 0 | How to wok your dog? [quote=radiodugger;5220]Yes, Isilzha, Ming is just ONE example. Another would be Martin Yan...one of my FAVORITE Asian chefs. Also, Wok with Yan starring Stephen Yan. The show was first produced in Vancouver, Canada by the CBC from 1980 to 1982. Ended up on PBS, here in the states. I really liked Wok with Yan, as Stephen would wear a different apron every episode with a "Wok pun" lettered on it. "Wok Goes Up Must Come Down" "You Are Wok You Eat" "Wok Like a Man" There are just a few examples...LOL! You left out, "How to Wok your dog" No no... not that way, Geesh, I'm not heartless. And I Wok both of my dogs every day!

Rep Power: 0 | Outdoor Cooking I'd like to see a show about outdoor cooking on the go. Not just BBQ and grilling in the back yard, but I'd love to see a show where different chefs and cooks show us how to make picnics for... Say, a visit to a National Monument in Wash. DC... Backpack cooking in Yosemite National Park... Car camp cooking on the rim of the Grand Canyon... How to cook on or near a beach and be safe from sun and sand...
Heck, love to see it, I'd love to do it!!!

Rep Power: 10 | I'm loving all the ideas. Maybe FN will take us up on some of them.
I was thinking about all the shows that they currently have on and so many are identical, only the chefs/cooks are different. They are in a kitchen making a meal...
Tyler, RR, Sandra, Paula, Ingrid, Sara, Nigella, Robin, Emeril (Essence), Ina. At least Ina and Paula get out once in a while to go shopping for ingredients, but not often enough.
Sure they have the Ace of Cakes, Unwrapped, all those competition shows (which I really don't care for), and a few other different ones scattered throughout.
Honestly, a few fresh new shows, like the ones all of you have mentioned, would be
great!
Keep posting those ideas...who knows, maybe one day you'll see your idea on the TV screen!
