Giada Covers Up

It's hard to believe just a few short months ago (well, last July) Giada was looking like this:

Now, some six months pregnant, she's all covered up! Here she is at a recent event at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

So far, she's not been experimenting with too many colors other than black when it comes to maternity wear. Hmmm... perhaps crushed tomato red just doesn't go with a bulging belly???

At least she took some time to pose with a few famous friends.

Giada was in Utah for the famous film festival to serve as guest chef at the Bon Appétit Supper Club event. Hopefully she got to take in a few movies while there, too.

Why would anyone want to show off swollen pregnant parts? That is a time to dress comfortable and not have anything digging in where you are already tender.

Why would anyone criticize the fashions of a pregnant woman?

I don't know. Especially since a lot of the stuff makes you look like a parade float. Although in recent years it seems to have gotten better.

I've seen women who wear tight clothing while pregnant and, personally, I don't care for the look. I wanted flowing loose clothes.

In fact, I made most all my clothes during that time because the styles were so matronly. At least now they have more fashionable clothes for pregnant women.

Honestly I don't want to sink a lot of money into maternity clothing. The fashionable stuff is so much more expensive than regular clothing of the same quality. And there is still a lot of way-too-cute clothing out there. I don't like the tight clothing either. I don't feel the need to show off my belly. Afterall, I'm not the first woman to be pregnant and while it is special to me, it has nothing to do with anyone else.

I felt the same way. The worst I had it was my daughter born in November. I didn't want to buy a coat, but luckily it didn't get too cold that year till we were into December.

My son was born in July so I just got tshirt material dresses. They were cool and inexpensive.

I don't know HOW you women do it...amazing...I think if a man had to go through all of this, AND have a baby....we MIGHT shoot ourselves! Men tend to ignore or be ignorant of the things SO important during this time.

Never had kids, never will...but I sure appreciate women!

I had my daughters in the 60's and the maternity wear was gawd-awful! Seemed like all they had were plain skirts or slacks with either a hole for your stomach or they inserted a stretchy fabric. I'm not a frilly-type person and I swear all their maternity tops had puffy/ruffly sleeves or bows and were hideous.

I love the maternity styles they have today that are form-fitting. I never understood why you had to hide a pregnant belly anyway. Of course, those form-fitting ones only look good if you're the type who only gains it in the stomach. I remember going to the beach one day with my sister and we spotted a woman with a nice tan and a beautiful figure in a black one-piece suit walking away from us. As she turned to the side, we saw that she was at least 8 months pregnant. I guess some women have all the luck, LOL. You either look fabulous and look like you're hiding a basketball under those clothes or there are others (like my family) who gain it all over.
