Rep Power: 10 | Maybe they read some of our comments as well...it wasn't exactly one of our favorites.

Rep Power: 2 | okay, after reading that I still did not know if that guy just liked bacon or what the heck he said, and if he even had ate at the restaurant, and this guy is suppose to be a food critic ? if he is going to critic than he needs to learn how to write also, in something is a little understandable.

They may be great at catering, but I must say that I did not much care for their show. I felt like my IQ dropped several points everytime I watched it.

Rep Power: 10 | I think it's just that they are so young. Many people watching probably felt like they had been cooking longer than they had been alive. And these young guys looked too unkempt to be taken seriously. If they can't take the time for grooming and clean untorn clothing they probably aren't going to spend the time many dishes need to really be outstanding.
I think Duff is able to appeal to older folks because much of what he does is art, and not everyone feels they can do those kind of things. They were most likely trying to find another show that would have Duff's kind of appeal to attract different or younger viewers. It's not attracting your average foodie though and Food Network needs to remember their audience, this isn't it. It might attract a small group who would watch this one show, but they are not going to expand their audience doing that, and they are going to lose the viewers they already have. No longer than these guys have been at it, I think I have gathered enough info on my own to do just as well. They were not well spoken about what they were doing, seemed to goof off a bit and all that seems immature. Plus they have no wow factor like Duff. Duff seems very young, but that makes what he does all that more amazing, nothing these guys did was special ... original or impressive. Maybe they will gain what they are lacking in a few years and can try it again.
If anything good comes out of this show, my hope is that the Food Network realizes that we want people who can show us something new and they don't have to be 12 to know about new things. I want people who take what they are doing serious enough to show pride in how they present themselves and what they are making. Bobby Flay was fairly young when he started out on the food network and so was Tyler, but they looked and presented things like professionals. |

Rep Power: 1 | I do like watching Ace of Cakes, even though I'm not much of a baker. Duff is relatively young, but he has a very dynamic personality, and you can tell that he has a very keen intelect. I did not get the same sense from 2 Dudes, and you're right, they presented a rather desheviled appearance, and that does not inspire people with confidence.

He was being funny. |

I'm sure you're right, but I don't think TV producers are interested in breaking the stereotype. The image of the trippy, arrogant and irreverent youth sells (whether I like it or not)- that's why they keep it going. I was actually surprised that this show was canceled, because so many of FN's recent 'changes' have been going in this younger direction, down to the excessive CGI animation, graphics, and editing put into the shows. I keep saying they're trying to bring MTV into FN. |

Rep Power: 2 | A lot of people win awards, and some are deserved and some are not. If you are writing for an audience of people who are everyday readers you write so they are able to comprehend what your saying. I could pull up my psychology and sociology papers I wrote for college, and most people would not I have a perk of an idea what the hell I was talking about, but those papers were for my professors and psychology staff, not your normal public. I am sure the man deserves credit for a Pulitzer prize award, but that does not make him a renowned guy who if he says something it makes it true or the last word. Given what he was given at the time he developed a opinion, and if he tried to state that opinion in his writing, it was extremely hard to perceive, and all I was saying was his desire for bacon seemed extreme and I did not find where he stated I attended this food establishment. This is just an opinion by another man who puts his pants on one leg at a time.
