Frito-Lay Betting Its Chips On the Next Rachael Ray

Frito-Lay Betting Its Chips On the Next Rachael Ray
BrandWeek - 40 minutes agoIn an effort to scoop up more sales from women 25-54, Frito-Lay’s Tostitos is prepping a year-long multiplatform campaign with Food Network’s Simply Delicioso . The alliance also is designed to leverage the breezy charms of Ingrid Hoffman, the show’s host, who is being groomed to follow in the star-studded “foodsteps” of Emeril Lagasse, Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee.

Of course, I remember him! Commercials use to be a lot more fun.

See, I mentioned this way back when, that Ingrid was the next RR. I don't think her promoting Tostidos will do anything for me to want to buy them. It will be interesting to see what they have in store for her.

On the same page as this article, there were stories off to the side. One was that Wendy's is getting rid of the red wigs commercials. Thank goodness! Those were really pointless.

It goes on to say that Wendy's is trying to find their indentity. Here's a thought, why not go back to the basics? Like the Wendy's Frosty and burgers..they do those the best. I went there yesterday as my husband wanted their cup of chili. Wow, the menu is all over the place. Far too many things. They should just focus on what made them and that's the burger and Frosty. IMO.

My son likes the Wendy's chili.

I agree the red wig thing was just plain nutty. I miss Dave Thomas.

My father-in-law was good friends with Dave for years. He passed away before Dave but he had some wonderful things to say about Dave.

He was great in the commercials. He looked like a man I would want to buy a burger from. And a real crusader for adoption, seemed like a very caring man.

See, that is what they should go back to. Honest advertising just talking about how good the product is. Honestly, some of the commercials that are on, I can't understand what they are advertising.

Getting back to the thread subject, I don't recall other Frito Lay commercials. Does anyone remember them?

Really wonder what the new campaign with Ingrid is going to be. We shall see!

That's true, I don't know how they plan to sell a product if you don't know what it is.

I like the Hillshire Farms commercials they are some of my favorites. Go Meat!

I've only seen two of the commercials from Hillshire. I'm from the era of 7-Up The Uncola, My Bolognie Has a First Name, My Dog's Bigger Than Your Dog...in fact, I was working for the ad agency that created all of these commercials when they were popular. Now those are some good commercials!
