Cooking Shows
From the Journal Sentinel Posted: April 15, 2008
Food Network or PBS?
They make it look so easy, those TV chefs.
But beyond that common denominator, the differences in entertaining style, crowd appeal, dishes prepared and, yes, raw culinary skill, are marked.
Where do you find your favorite cooking shows?
Food Network - Home of celebrity chefs as diverse as Alton Brown, Rachael Ray, Paula Deen and Too Hot Tamales?
Or
Public Television - The enterprise that launched Julia Child and now airs such standards as "America's Test Kitchen" and "Regina's Vegetarian Table?"

They need to have it so you can post right on their page, but can't say as I have a favorite station, use to be FN now it is PBS, FN, FOX, DG, DH, BBS, where ever there happens to be a chef cooking, and some non chefs with lots of experance cooking. PBS just dosen't have enough shows, FN to many non chef cooking shows, Fox it only has Hell's Kitchen, Discovery Green not availible yet, Discovery home, has some chefs cooking shows, BBS has shows but at weird times and not many. :tv: But I think most of my info comes from cook :books:.

I do use some of the recipes from FN, however, for the most part, I tend to makeup recipes as I go along.
In the early years, I would use cookbooks all the time and watch Julia. Now, it is just all by experience. I've had people ask me for my 'recipe' for something and I honestly have to tell them I don't know it. I know what to put in without measuring and it is all in my head.
I love:1: to cook and create new dishes.BerryBaby

I have cookbooks that I use and the internet is probably my greatest source. But I still love to watch and get the cookbooks of my favorites.
