Cooking for Real Renewed

Sunny Anderson's Cooking For Real will be coming back to Food Network!

"A couple of weeks ago I found out I get to continue taping Cooking for Real for Food Network! I can't believe it, I am so HAPPY! This is a result of early support and viewership, I can't tell you how thankful I am," writes Sunny on her official blog.

In case you didn't know, newbies like Sunny typically get six episodes to start. Once those air, they have to make a big enough impression on Food Network execs (and other offical decision makers) to order more episodes.

If the six intial episodes never materialize into anything, the lonely six tend to float around in reruns, slowly decreasing in frequency, until we viewers forget about their existence. Amy Finley, who? Was she the blonde one?

Exactly.

Anyhow, congrats to Sunny!

Thank you for the news!! I was just calculating the same thing over here. I wasn't sure if it was 4 or 6 epis that a FN host is given. I was thinking not only of Amy Finley, but Dan & Steve. After their initial test episodes, what hoppen? What about Warren Brown? Sugar Rush seems to be gone also, as is George Duran's Ham on the Street. But I like Sunny. I know a lot of posters come online ready to flame and trash (and compare her to Gina Neely- WTF?), but she has an easy, earthy style. And she's lovely to look at without being a Hollywood fashion model. Cheers!!

Some of the shows moved to Canada, and have regular viewing up there, seems like if they are making it there, they could have made it here with the right marketing. Or maybe the target audience was not what the network has decided to sell to, and to make room for what they think is their audiences and drop the shows, kinda like where are all the chefs now, and will leave it there and get of my .

I thought Dan and Steve did more than one season. Amy was asked but turned down the offer.

I've watched Sunny and she is pleasant. Congratulations!

I'm happy for her! I do enjoy her show.

I hope the "Chic and Easy" host just gets her six eps and no more. I'll even buy her ticket to Canada *meow*. Sunny could give her some tips on how to be a pleasant host.

You may be right. I do remember their show's title being changed from ...Dan & Steve to ...The Hearty Boys, but it never seemed like it went beyond a half-season of shows. Maybe FN produced 6 episodes under each title, LOL. To me it wasn't bad, but maybe they didn't know how to market/promote it.

I loved all the hors d'oeurves...gave me many ideas and I printed out quite a few of their recipes.

Enjoyed Steve more than Dan...Steve seemed more comfortable in front of the camera and had no problem doing improv to keep the show moving. I watch them when I can find them on the schedule. Their chicken satay is very good.
