(Ground) Coffee is used in rubs and marinades and (brewed) often used in adult beverages like martinis and others.

It is a great base for a beef rub prior to roasting or BBQing
I make mine with finely ground: (decaffeinated) espresso beans, chili peppers, rosemary, thyme, garlic, sea salt and brown sugar.
And it is delicious!

Rep Power: 10 | No, it wasn't a rub. It was a recipe from FN or one of the cooking magazines..no, it was Bon Appetit or Gourmet, one or the other. Don't recall it exactly except it was liquid coffee and you braised the meat in it. The flavor was not something either me or husband enjoyed at all. Yours sounds much better!
