They have had how to boil water on in early daytime recently. I agree she's annoying . But I can't turn it because I get to watch Tyler.

I love me some Tyler as well. The show is much more bearable than it was when there was the other chef on there with her. Good gracious did that duo annoy me. I haven't seen it on the schedule in a long, long time, so I wasn't aware that it was on in the mornings. Mostly the only time I have to sit and watch tv are in the mornings on the weekends or if I have my DVR set to tape.

I usually have the TV on while I do my housework and keep it on the Food Network. I get up and do my big tasks before I turn my computer on. That is when my work day in cyberspace starts.

I watch Days of Our Lives while I eat my lunch then back to the food network till the kids get home and claim the TV for cartoons.

I'm kinda burnt out on most FN shows these days. I noticed even Emeril doesn't say "BAM!" any more...

I run a VCR tape (8 hours) during every overnight to see what I catch...lately I DON'T fast-foward thru:

1. Into The Fire
2. Kitchen Accomplished
3. Diners Drive-Ins And Dives
4. Dinner Impossible
5. Guy's Big Bite

Depending on my mood, I MIGHT not fast forward through Emeril "LIVE" (especially when he has bands like Lonestar and Charlie Daniels!), Simply Delicioso (she DOES have some interesting Latino recipes, plus, I think she's easy on the eyes...), and Iron Chef America (if it's not another repeat).

I'm tired of Rachael (LOVE ya, darlin', but too much is TOO MUCH!), I already have all I want on VHS of Giada (LOVE her recipes...they're KEEPERS) and Mario (I DO NOT have anything saved on Mario Eats Italy...darn it!).

Sandra Lee seems to be a sweet lady, pretty and (in my opinion) elegant-looking, but have NO use for the recipes (sorry Aunt Sandy!), Ina Garten is another elegant lady, but, sadly, I get bored with the show...Tyler's Ultimate cannot TOUCH Food 911. How To Boil Water, I watched for Jack ONLY. She has a strange name, but woo...I REALLY LIKE HER! That, "act" of hers is kinda lame, but that's just a schtick...that lady is one smart cookie.

What happened to Sara? Sara Moulton was my FIRST Food Network heart throb. I miss her...

If I think of anything else..I'll come back and post.

So last night I went to the Holiday Wine Tasting event. There must have been 60 different wines to taste. I had 6 sips of different wines which were delicious.

Then, we got to visiting with people at the table. Ran into Food Network fanatics and here are their likes and dislikes. It was interesting because I spoke to more than person and they were very similar with their opinions.

They love:

Guy
Ina
Robert
Bobby
Emeril
Michael
Tyler
Alton
Ellie

They don't watch:

Rachael - the giggling and idle chatter
Sandra Lee - the tablescapes and concept
Robin Miller - too much like leftovers and don't care for her style
Paula - Paula's Party a big no on their list
Nigella - Didn't care for her style or recipes.

They were in the middle with Giada. Sometimes they liked her, other times not.

We were all curious why the Food Network doesn't build a set kitchen for her to use. Why put people out of their homes for 6 weeks at a time? There has to be some set in LA that they can use on a regular basis.

It was an interesting evening as they were very interested in discussing the Food Network. Those at the table that weren't fans, are now interested in tuning in.

If people will actually stop for a minute in their channel flipping it usually will hold their interest more than they think it would. I have even caught my husband and my dad getting drawn in a couple of times. One of my friends cared for her Dad for a few years before he passed away and she would always have to make sure he could get to the TV when Emeril was on. She says she doen't think he had ever cooked anything in his entire life but he loved Emeril.

Well...interesting...being curious, I asked the guy I'm renting a room from if he wanted to watch Paula Deen vs Robert Irvine on an Iron Chef challenge...his response?

"Food Network??? Doug, honestly, I'd rather watch GRASS GROW!"

Most of the people I hang out with are the same. They think I need to "get a life"...

Sheesh!
