Eliminated contestants as sous-chefs ?

Bringing back three eliminated contestants to help the remaining three was an interesting idea. However, I thought it was handled weirdly. They were just there suddenly and then gone. No mention of when they knew they were coming back for an episode, or how they felt about it, etc. I know the episode wasn't about them, but it would have been interesting to hear their thoughts about coming back.

They did this on other seasons, but I don't recall whether or not there was any discussion with them.

I wonder if they even wanted to come back ? Their body language spoke for itself, I doubted if they really helped that much, how can you let the pork burn are you not checking it, and Adams food all of it smoked ? And Aaron's food would you have said something? as a sous chef I know your suppose to just keep your mouth shut but when your suppose to be a sous chef and a friend would you let your friend screw up and not say a word ?

I thought that was interesting as well that Kelsey burned the roast. Makes you wonder.

They always do this on Top Chef too I think. The only thing is that if you get paired up with someone who makes lots of mistakes or who doesn't cook well that can hurt you.
