Ted Allen's New Show on The Food Network

Last night I caught a couple of promos for Ted Allen's new show, soon to be broadcast on The Food Network. It would appear that the theme is "answering your questions about food through science", which naturally brings Good Eats to mind.
While Ted is certainly one of the more intelligent foodies around, I was surprised that his show would go in that direction.

Ted just doesn't seem like the scientific type of guy, After seeing him as a judge, and he was on the queer eye for the straight guy show?, just seem more like fine wine and dine type person not the nerdy scientific research as what makes this bubble type guy. But as with any new show I will give it a couple episodes unless the first one is just really bad.

No biggie, I've read worse about Alton on Chowhound

This new show is very much like the episode "myth smashers" on Good Eats a few years ago. I do like Ted Allen when he is a judge on ICA. The show would certainly be much better if Alton hosted (IMHO any show FN would be better with a little AB

) but I'm going to watch to see if I like it.

Alton's Myth Smashers is great. I spent months trying to let isilzha know every time it was on because she is a fan of the Myth Busters show. Seems like she was always at work when it came on.

It'll probably be a hybrid of GoodEts, MythBsts, and QuEye- but Allen- with his erudite, Frasier-like personality- will make the show his own. He'll be good.

I did always enjoy Ted's segments on Queer Eye.
I'll probably watch the show and enjoy it. I do like food science, the whole reason I started watching Good Eats. But I'll probably just be wishing Alton would show up in an episode.
