Danny Boome

Does anyone else think some of the things he makes on his show are a little too British? I mean how many people serve chutney for an appetizer here in the US?

I am sure there are a few, but it seems a little too far across the pond to me.

Chutney on a brick of cream cheese is really good as an appetizer. However, there is a time and a place it is usually only during the Christmas holiday season.

They call the show rescue chef, who is he rescuing, seems most of the food he cooks is Britain based, like the time he was suppose to make enchiladas and he actually made fajitas in a pan. If they are going to rescue someone, it is him that needs it. He needs to learn how they actually prepare the dish in the region he is in, not his take on the dish, and most of the stuff has not looked that appetizing. Good idea for a show, even though you ladies think he is cute, he not the right choice for this show.

Maybe it's just me. It's kinda on that marmalade scale for me.

I dropped his show from my DVR after only a few episodes. My dad's parents are British and my grandmother is a horrible cook. Watching his show almost made me sick to my stomach because it reminded me of some of the things that my grandmother used to force me to eat, even though I'm sure that Danny is a MUCH better cook than my grandmother. I wouldn't be able to handle the day that he made marmite on toast for snacks. Just typing that out makes my stomach do gymnastics.

I'm sure that his food is actually pretty good, but it brings back bad memories for me. Even my dad still says there are certain foods he won't even attempt to eat because my grandmother subjected them to him growing up. :P I'd take reruns of Food 911 any day.

I have always said the Britsh have found no food they can't boil. I know that is a tradition, and it's very popular for them. It just doesn't appeal to me. I am sure my food would be too spicy for many people living over there. But Danny, yes he is a cutie. He just cooks a little too UK for me.
