HOWEVER, in light of not knowing how to clean a fish, using a tiny piece just to comply with a test, and throwing away a good fish is totally unacceptable.
Yea that made me think she should a been voted off immediately!

Well okay but with a little research I did find you can use saffron, and a little mustard powder although most of the recommendation said just to leave it out mostly was used to color. Some suggested using curry than cutting back on the coriander and garlic. So there are ways around this. It was stated through out most of the material I found that it added very little flavor, mainly a yellow color. I do not know much about Indian cooking, but if I knew I was going into a competition and I was going to use my ethnic food, I think I would take my most popular spice especially if it is not a common one, and this really seems to be, although I have a jar of it in my cabinets. Still no excuse for the network not to make sure it was available, if they can spend $500 for speciality items each episode and per chef for iron chef certainly they could of bought some turmeric someplace.

I was just at our local grocery store and there was turmeric. I wonder why the store they went to didn't have any.

Just reading the comments on this Indian forum I take she was even "an embarrassment to Indians" as stated by several on there.

Thank You FNF. She was lucky she wasn't bounced off after her little fit in week three. :cryrub: Her crying "foul" is laughable.
