Food Detectives, things you shouldn't put in the microwave.

My kids are enjoying the microwave segments. But it's giving them ideas.

I'm sure that you've told them what can and can't go in there.

Yeah. I told them throughout this show ... don't even think about it.

My daughter does like to microwave peeps. I let her do that when she gets them for Easter as long as she eats them and she doesn't let them blow up or she's cleaning it up.

I use a plastic plate cover designed for use in the microwave to keep food from splattering onto the walls of the unit. I also have an insulated plate / cover like the ones served to patients in the hospitals. That works nice!!

No mess, no messy cleanup because and splaters are contained within the cover and plate. At most, the only other thing that sometimes needs washing is the glass turntable.

I once used a plastic plate that clearly said it was microwave safe but it partially melted leaving a hole in it. That was from microwaving a lean pocket for 2 minutes.

My sister bought this teapot at target and it said microwave safe on it so she put the water inside and put it in the microwave and it caught on fire.

When I was little my brother and I used to microwave water then drop an ice cube in and the ice cube would shatter and explode (as much as an ice cube can).

PicBuddy is an unknown quantity at this point
Hey this show seems a lot more enjoyable to me than the 1st few. This is pretty cool.

I think I may have been overly critical of the pilot because of how many ads they ran for it. So was expecting too much I guess.

This is pretty fun to watch actually, and not have to think much. Good background viewing when doing email and blogging.

Anyone else agree that it's a little better than the overall general 1st impressions?

I enjoy microwaving Peeps...they get all chubby! Never had one explode, I peek in and turn it off before they reach that stage.

I liked the show last night. This is another show where if you have kids they are going to come in and watch with you because this kind of stuff fascinates them, and that's always nice. Or maybe my kids are just eggheads like their dad.

I think at first I was expecting something like Alton, I should have known there is only one Alton. But with Alton, his Science usually gives you some sort of practical use that helps you do things better, and that is what I love about his show.

This is more along the lines of useless information. I mean it's interesting, but once you know ... so what.
