Rep Power: 3 | Esquire's Worst (and Best) Cooking Shows Shows I found this list this morning. Interesting comments from this writer about the worst cooking shows on TV.
But the guy isn't all bad, he gave Good Eats high praise!! Quote: As someone who writes about food and restaurants for a living, I have near-zero interest in watching most of the food shows on TV, where hijinks, hair, and cleavage have replaced the authoritative, careful instructiveness of Julia Child, David Rosengarten, and Sara Moulton -- most of whom are either off the air, dead, toiling in obscurity, or relegated to reruns.
The Food Network, which once had all those people on, is now home to a bunch of screaming, loutish characters who read from cue cards with about as much as contrivance as Jerry Springer sympathizing with a 400-pound transsexual. Still, there are some good shows out there that teach you as much about how to cook something as about the culture or reasons behind it. Here, five of the worst (which could have been a much longer list) followed by five of the best. | Food Television - The Worst (and Best) Cooking Shows on Television - Esquire |

Rep Power: 10 | It really is amazing just how wide the appeal is for Good Eats. Many people who don't like the same shows will agree on Good Eats. |

Rep Power: 3 | Speaking of Good Eats, both Alton and Guy are doing new shows, I think, starting next month! |

Hey! How dare he talk about Paula, Guy Fieri and Giada De Laurentis that way! |

It's the way of the world, so he might just as well get used to it.
Guy had the same hairdo ever since he was a contestant on NFNS, and that was over two years ago. |

Rep Power: 3 | Cleavage bothers me the most. It has no place in a cooking show!
Besides, I'd rather watch cute a man cook anyway!! |

Rep Power: 10 | That's why I don't get the idea of their latest ad campaign for Sunny and Aida being an effort to appeal to women. Most women would be drawn to a handsome man over attractive women. For a lot of them the women are just competition, and having a man look them right in the eyes ... err camera, and speak directly to them could reel that female viewer in much quicker. I prefer watching nearly all the men over the females with maybe the exception of Ina. Seems like they do more to appeal to me as a viewer. I have nothing against the females, I just like the guys better. |

Rep Power: 2 | I like the way this writer gives Gordon Ramsay a back handed compliment, then calls Hells Kitchen one of the worst shows, ? not sure where he is coming from, and really what CHEF doesn't use their shows to further there resturaunts ?
