Rep Power: 2 | K"Aid Stand Mixers Not Being Used! Has anyone ever noticed in any of the Food Network shows that there always seems to be a K'Aid Stand Mixer on the counter behind the host, but it NEVER gets used?
Is that just for display?
I've seen one on Semi-Homemade, Paula's Home Cooking and today on Big Daddy's House.
About the only ones where I've seen it in use is on Barfoot Contesa, Everyday Italian and maybe on other show.:13:

Rep Power: 10 | I have seen Paula use her's. I think Sandra Lee has it for decor because the colors change just like her set. And lets face it most of what she uses has already made it past the stage of needing mixed beyond just stirring it in with a spoon. |

Rep Power: 1 | I just think that on some sets, it is a prop.
I have noticed many Viking mixers being used lately, I am willing to bet that it is for advertising purposes. I noticed on one of Paula's shows from her home, that they had tape over the Kitchenaid name and the cover was off the hub. I wonder if it was just because it was her own personal machine and not one donated by kitchenaid for advertising.

Rep Power: 10 | I think it's funny when they cover the name. How many people who are interested in cooking do not know what a kitchenaid mixer looks like even without the name showing? |

Rep Power: 2 | That's right! Do they think people were born last night or this morning?! I haven't seen the name on the Viking stand mixer covered up though.
Oh. Forgot about Alton's Flame-colored K'Aid mixer. Yeah, he's used that quite a lot of times! I've seen him use the Viking Stand Mixer, but he's had to yell over it because it's so blasted noisy at high speeds!! Same with Emeril's.
Sandra Lee doesn't make cakes from scatch, but she DOES bake box cake mxes though.
Ray-Ray doesn't bake anything from scratch at all! She'll get a pre-made cake or pie first. She always says; "I don't measure anything, I just eyeball it, which is why I don't bake at all. 30-minute measl? Hello!"
I've also seen Paula use one, now that I think of it. There was some gray duct tape on the name on the motor head. As if people don't know that its a K'Aid mixer!

Rep Power: 2 | I think Viking took over a lot of the supply for the cooking equipment, I seen on Micheal C show he was using Viking pots and pans, Emeril live went to the Viking mixers( he mad a comment one night when one of th KA quit working that he goes through 5 or 6 a season). I have seen some others using the Viking mixers I think ICA uses them now. Viking as advertiser probably supply the equipment for the shows.

Rep Power: 2 | I've always suspected Alton's custom paint job was a way to hide the KA logo
Although, I can remember him using a black, white, cobalt blue and pink KAs in addition to the flame one. |

Of course, that was on my list to ask him but I completely forgot during the Q & A session
From watching Alton use his, I don't think I'd like it. The way the whole head and back tilt from the bottom looks a little awkward. I like the KA with just the tilting head. |

Rep Power: 2 | They remind me of the Wolfgang puck bistro mixer, I have one it is so dang noisy I put it up and bought a Artesian KA lot quieter, and does everything the other does. But I kept them both, have a meat grinder for Pucks
