Food Network at the Popcorn Festival

Food Network coming to county

Tuesday, September 16, 2008
By JASON MOON, Managing Editor

The Popcorn Festival of Clay County is entering its sixth year of existence. "We are just movers and shakers as one guy put it," Festival Marketing and Publicity representative Glen Brown said. "We are really putting the community out there."
Since the inception of the festival, it has gathered steam and is now considered, by many, as one of the top festivals in the state.
And this year, it will gather more national attention.
The festival will welcome the Food Network's Sunny Anderson this year.
Brown said this is the second time the Food Network has focused its sites on the festival.
"They contacted us," Brown said. "We're real excited."

Well, thats weird a report on before the festival it talked recipes, then in the report on the festival all it said was the had 18 entires never said if any one won, or even what the recipe was about or who won it. So I guess the festival was good since it was packed, but what was packed ? the vendor street ? leave it to a small town paper and reporter, it was a small town wasn't it?

They are missing out on some great festivals on the West Coast. The Pumpkin Regatta is coming up in a number of weeks. That would be a great one for them to film. (See my album for photos.)
Giant pumpkins craved into floating tubs, food, lots of people..a very unique festival.
