The Cooking Loft is GOOD!

I've been busy or out of town almost every time The Cooking Loft has aired, but I've managed to catch bits and pieces from most of the episodes... and I gotta say, it's good! I love Alex's...

I saw some of it this weekend, and it is good. Only thing I can say, tho, is it is truly for the first time cooks...pretty elementary, which is great but I'm beyond that. Give me Michael and Ina!

I do not like the show. I like the chef she is good. However, the setting and students are flake. The type of questions the students ask could be asked by high school students with interest in becoming chefs. (mentoring future chefs)
OR
Show would be better if they just let her teach. I like her better than Aida.

Let chef Alex answer fans by demonstrating how to cook the things they are having problems with. This would make the show more believable.

I only got to watch it once because it's in the never watched weekend daytime slot that no one is ever home to see.

She is a good chef, but the show is very basic. I am okay with that because I know there are some people who need that. But if it were on at a time where I could see it more often I might feel differently. It's hard to judge when I have only seen it once.

I like the show. Haven't missed an episode. The Saturday timeslot's not great, but I just record them to watch at a later date. (That's how I handle MOST of the FN shows.) The MOLTO MARIO structure with the students looking on and asking questions doesn't bother me- it actually makes me feel like I'm there learning right along. But it all comes down to the charisma of Alexandra Guarnaschelli. She's humorous, sly, and- though I may be in the minority here- I love the little looks and gestures she makes towards the camera- she enjoys cooking (and teaching) while not taking herself too seriously. And I really like some of the dishes- like the 3-cheese Mac 'n' cheese, the pasta with the yellow tomato sauce, or the stovetop peaches with streusel and sour cream.

I just set my DVR to tape this show so that I can check it out. I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds enjoyable so I'll give it a shot.
