Rep Power: 10 | Magazines Feeling The Pinch Magazines Feeling The Pinch
Just how tight are things getting in the wonderful world of print magazines? Well, Portfolio (a magazine that itself is rumored to be in trouble) has confirmed that Hearst is shuttering Cosmogirl. Cosmogirl.com will remain a Web destination, while the magazine's subscriber base will be folded into Seventeen's. A funny bit of minutiae: publisher Vicki Wellington will become publisher of something called Food Network Magazine, set to roll out in 2009. Evidently, the only way to launch a print product these days is to tie it to a TV network that already has a built-in ad network! (Whether the Food Network Magazine will be able to take advantage of its biggest star Rachael Ray remains to be seen, as Ray already has her own magazine.) MORE HERE |

Rep Power: 10 | There are a lot of us that want to see more than RR. I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone else.

Rep Power: 2 | Yes, please more than RR!
Of course, I want more on AB
I just hope the FN magazine is going to include everyone and not just the same people whom are deemed to be the popular hosts/chefs over and over. I could see that happening to sell issues |

Rep Power: 3 | It will nice if they do include ALL the people and that they focus mainly on food and not have the mag be a food version of "Us" or "People." There is one thing I do hope they leave out - articles about their food competitions.

Rep Power: 2 | Yes, I think the FN mag will be a smash hit / success, but Ray-Ray shouldn't be the only one the mag should be centered around.
I'd love to see a spread on Aaron and Chef Jeff!!
These two stars are already a smash!
They are doing the appropriate thing by giving back to their communiteis what they themeselves have learned over the years, by mentoring and teaching young teens and adults to try to gain a healthy career in cooking and are getting them away from what might be a life of crime on the mean streets in their communities.
Teens especially, are vulnerable to such sad states of affairs, and we need more people like Chefs Aaron and Jeff to mentor, teach and guide them so that they don't head for or get trapped into a very sour life of crime, drugs and gangbanging!!
Ray-Ray is good for all that she does, but sorry to say, I don't see HER doing that. Helping teens and adults become responsible people. |

Rep Power: 10 | She's big advocate on helping animals and that is extremely important as well. Each one has their own project that they support. Maybe we should hear more about those things than the negatvie press, but nice doesn't sell.

Rep Power: 2 | Yes, I know that.
She lost her dog once and was so sad and depressed. But she had gotten another one just like the one who died! She's seen on the opening credits of 30MM.
I guess I was a bit hasty to say that she hasn't done much, but I was wrong. She DID do an episode of 30MM on cooking for your pet.
Yeah, there ARE a lot of negative people out there who have tried to smear her name by prying into her personal life, when they need to just go get a life themselves! |

Rep Power: 3 | She also has her Yum-o organziation that helps kids and their families develop a healthy relationships with food and cooking by teaching families to cook, feeding hungry kids and funding cooking education and scholarships. Rachael Ray's non profit organization, Yum-o! :: WHAT IS YUM-O?

Rep Power: 2 | And she also helped out during the 4th season of The Next Food network Star when she had the finalists featured on her daytime show working with the few Girl Scouts. |
