chef What Have You Learned from Watching FN?

Many of us have been watching FN for years. With that, we have learned all kinds of tips and techniques that have made us better cooks.

What have you learned?

The one tip that really works for me comes from RR. Wash your celery when you get it home, wrap it in paper towels, then aluminum foil. It lasts for weeks and weeks and doesn't loose its crunch.

Of course Alton has taught me loads of things

One of the best tricks, cooking bacon in the oven on rack and sheet pan. I love crispy bacon and this method does it! My mom even makes bacon with the method now!

And I can't forget... brining the turkey!

I have learned the most from Alton as well. Ina and Michael give me great ideas and better tips for things I already enjoy making, but as far as learning something completely new I think I learn something from Alton every time I watch.

Most of the tips and techniques I have learned have come from Alton. But, have also learned some from Emeril and Paula.

Like Suzie, I too learn something new from Alton each time I watch one of his shows. Even a episode I've seen before, because he puts so much info into a one half-hour show, sometimes you miss a thing or two. He really needs a one-hour show.

Yeah, that's why I rewatch and rewatch... to catch the stuff I missed.
