"Take on the Take Out" new show
I read that Al Roker was editing a pilot he was producing for the FN with chef Danny Boome. It was suppossed to be called "Take on the Take out" which is a copy of a show in the UK. Has anyone heard anyhting about it? Sounds like a fun idea. The chef goes to random peoples homes and cooks their favorite take out food. The family then orders it from their local take out place and they do a blind tasting on which was better. Danny Boome was suppossed to be the chef in the show but I haven't heard anything about it for a while now so I was wondering if it was cancelled before they aired it. Anyone here heard anything about it?

I twittered Al and asked if he would be doing anything else with the Food Network. He didn't answer me though. Sounds like an interesting idea.

I like this idea - cept, I'm not a big fan of Danny Boome. It would be neat if they would post the recipes - like "KopyKat recipes" - probably legal issues with that
I also wish FN would bring back Door Knock Dinners - I loved that show!

This sounds like a fun show! I'm not fond of Al or Danny, but would watch the show, at least give it a try.

Sounds like a neat idea for a show, but I don't care for Danny Boome either.

Looks like they filmed a pilot episode recently in Montclair, NJ. Haven't heard anything other than that about it.

....don't really care as I don't do 'take out'. Wouldn't really interest me.

There is some "take-out" type foods I would learn to cook better at home... mainly the Asian types.
