A definite must-see. I was burned by Jamika not getting off-ed last week. Girl better get it together this week or there will be NO excuse this time! Now, where's that guillotine emoticon . . .

Debbie is really getting on my nerves. That girl is all about herself. I realized she's there to win but everyone else is being a team player. I hope she goes home.

Is it just me or this looking like Melissa has this thing in the bag, barring some disaster? She has a plan for her food, she cooks decent and sometimes great food, she appeals to the home cook, she's friendly, and she actually uses her brain.
I know Guy won Season 2 in dominant fashion, but that season actually had reallly good talent -- Reggie, Carissa, and Nathan were all excellent and could all have their own show. Last year also had several with talent -- Aaron, Adam, Lisa, but it was much closer.
This season, it's increasingly apparent to my eyes that though each contestant brings something to the table, it's Melissa -- who is consistently very good, sometimes "great", and never bad -- that seems to be walking away with it. I agreed with the judges tonight that her "issues" are all very easy to work on with just a little coaching and adjusting.
Each of the other constestants has had an awful week. Melissa buzzes on through. Still 3 more episodes to go, but it's hers to lose.

Did anyone else think the main challenge was more like something you'd see on Top Chef than on TNFNS?

I'm glad tonight's guy got axed. He has been hanging from the "kitchen twine" since day one. I really just could never see him hosting his own show to the general public. He IS a funny guy however and I wish him the best (not in front of a camera, lol!)

Is this season's final decision a judge vote or a public vote?

I agree. She's also shrewd... holding some of her eggs in the basket to surprise the judges here and there. Remember, she didn't reveal her mother died when she was 30 until the episode on the ship. She didn't reveal she grew up in a spanish speaking household until this last episode. That's all calculated, if you ask me. I completely admire her because I identify with her, and she's smart and capable. I can see either her or Debbie winning, then the other getting a show after a while (like Adam did).
I'm sad to see Michael go. I wonder if the judges really didn't like his food, or if they just emphasized the bad because they wanted him to go next? I ask, because all along his food has been very, very good.
My husband, who predicted Michael would go this time, says Jeffrey won't win because Bobby Flay is threatened by him...

I am still at odds, I was glad to see they finally nailed Debbie's act in this show. Micheal reminds me of Reggie, I would of watched maybe one or two episodes and would of had to change the channel. Melisa is bringing it to the table now, only problem is if all this was there to begin with why hide it ? maybe editing ? If she could do a show of cooking for kids, not with kids but for kids, I think it would fill a niche that the network is lacking, it would take a lot of research but it is doable. Jeffery well, he was OK in the beginning but seems to be taking the poor me attitude and his cooking well has went down hill. Jamika just not sure what roll she would have on the network ? A home cook from New Orleans when the town is loaded with restaurants and CHEFs. She does not seem to have enough OLD STYLE NEW ORLEANS to really pull it off, and then does the network really need another home cook ? I really had a hard time with competition, if they were to cook for a catered party, cook for it not have to do the whole service and everything where were the waiters and Bartenders that would of been the only way to make it fair, this was way off the mark. It allowed for all kinds of biased remarks as they were serving, Jeffery as a host was alright but he should of not been serving other than to pick up some slack, and there seemed to be alot of that this time. For me it was just a poor choice of the network to even hold this style of competition. What does it have to do with a show ? if your looking for information, you got alot of it on how NOT to host a party, and very little on How to.
prepared with passion and served with love !
I do not cook to live, but live to cook !

In the instrucions for the challenge... were the contestant told the amont of guests that were coming to te party? Usually the chefs are told to prepare their hors d'oeuvres for so many people. I have seen Chef Irvine prepare huge amounts for the informed number of guests. I did not see this happen last night. Then the people were hungry.
Michael digged his own grave. Susie said it,,,camaras are the job.
The little extra that Melissa did (veggies), gave her the A grade.
I like Jamika's fresh and colorful presence. As like Melissa, she must have something reserved for the special time. Jeffrey also, he assented to this when the judges asked him.
Great show!
