I have used that term to describe myself. But I think it just means a love for learning about and enjoying food.

Maybe Food Nerd is better?

Well I am a foodie, not to be pretentious just because I like to cook, I like onions, I like deep fried onion blossoms. it is a big onion ring. The worst dinning trend is we gotten away from comfort food restaurants and these blooming fast food joints became a way of life. Chefs need to prepare comfort food, at a set down table, if it is for 20 thats okay, if my family came in they would need that many seats. This is like the tailgating with lobsters, and such, way overboard. Go back to the basics, serve blueberry muffins before dinner, chefs take time to talk to the patrons, they are paying you for a service. Foam well chit disappears in a little while why bother ? somebody's fancy idea to add dollars to a menu item that probably ain't worth a crap anyways. Give me a nice looking plate of food, not pretentious, not expensive and good service. That is all I want.

The foam looks like they put food on the soapy plate.

Personally, I think the ultimate worst dining trend is "Super Sizing" and huge portions served at restaurants, when they know you could not possibly eat it all.

Make sure you order something that you know will make a great leftover, like steak or chicken. Salads and fries just don't hold up.

Just bring me a carry-out box when the meal is served. I'll put half or more in the box and eat what is left on my plate!

Every time I hear that word I think of something that is the by-product of eating certain foods.

I don't call myself a "foodie"... I'm a lover of good food and good cooking.

I'm a definite foodie, and a techno-geek to boot.

I think the term foodie is fine, but misused by people trying to sound important or confusing it with gourmet. If you go back to the people who coined it and their description is more like most of us here.

According to Wikipedia, Foodies want to learn everything about food, both the best and the ordinary, and about the science, industry, and personalities surrounding food.

But according to this site, maybe I'm not
FIND YOUR INNER FOODIE - AM I A FOODIE?

However, I have to say yes to the #1 sign
