What a terribly tragic event. Every job comes with its risks, this just seems to a coincidence that it happened again, but a different factory.
I feel for those families that lost a loved one.

Yes they say they still aren't sure how many have lost their lives. They are hoping some people got out and just went home without them being able to have a record of it. Lets pray that's the case.

The loss of life as well as the loss of jobs will be tough for a lot of people. One sugar plant was destroyed during Katrina then the original story in this thread and now this one. Very sad to hear.

I have tried many different sugars, pure cane (Domino's, Dixie Crystals, a couple store brands) and ones not promoted as cane (different store brands), and I cannot taste a difference in any of them, I have read on another site about C&H sugar being soooo much better, what makes it better? I have not had any difference in results using any of these.

What a terrible thing to happen in the sugar plant, not once but twice.

I am with you, I really don't notice a difference. But I have mostly bought Domino because it's available the most places here.

I tried raw sugar a couple of times. Didn't cook with it as it is chucky and doesn't dissolve like the granulated.

We only have store brands or C&H out here. I can't tell the difference in taste, but I can with the price!
