H/T to Alexandra Photo Tutorial
Wished I had seen this earlier. I used the food processor today just to avoid the tears.

Rep Power: 10 | I don't know why, but I have never had teary-eyes cutting onions. Someone on the FN said not to cut the root end off before cutting/chopping. I have always done this anyway so maybe that is why I don't have a problem.
Also, Mario once said his dad told him to bite down on a wooden spoon handle while you cut onions. For some reason, this prevents you from tearing up.

Rep Power: 10 | I usually use sweet onions and they don't bother me. If it's a really strong onion sometimes it will get me. |

Rep Power: 2 | I usually peel an onion under cold running water (learned that tip from the Brady Bunch), but chop on a cutting board. If I need to leave the onion alone on the board while I prepare something else, I place a wet/damp paper towel over it. |

Rep Power: 3 | Use to work in a plant that sliced onion for Burger King Resturants. You walk into that room and you were blinded! |

Rep Power: 10 | I'm still thinking it is the variety of onion. Or, it could be that I get mine from the farms, fresh picked, and maybe the aromas haven't developed as much?
