BerryBaby is on a distinguished road
One year, for Christmas, I made up a cookbook for my family. It was all the favorite recipes that our mother and father use to make for us.

Years ago I was visiting them in Chicago and we started talking about family traditions. I asked them if they would both write down their recipes for family favorites as most of it was in their heads and not on paper.

So, I took the handwritten recipes, made copies and gave them to my siblings as a Christmas gift. They were thrilled as none of them knew how to make Thriska, dad's pizza, his delicious stuffing or mom's German potato salad.

This was the best cookbook we ever received.

My mom's church makes a cookbook every so often. Lots of nice ones in there too.

I have quite a few of those from churches, Junior League, those types of organizations.

What I find interesting are the differences in the books from east coast versus west coast. The recipes are very different.

East coast recipes tend to add canned soup to many recipes. While west coast uses a lot of produce type items.

I enjoy both.
