Rep Power: 10 | Food safety an Olympic challenge for Beijing Games Food safety an Olympic challenge for Beijing Games Reuters via Yahoo! News - Jan 09 5:47 AM Pampered pigs or processed pork? Farm-fresh or greenhouse grown? With China's food supplies under scrutiny following a series of health and safety scares, Chinese officials are taking no chances for the Olympic Games this August.
That would be a bad time to get food poisoning if you are an athlete. Not that any time is a good time. |

Rep Power: 2 | Don't you think the US will bring their own food/chefs to the Olympics? I've spent time in China and ate everything, some things I don't even like to think about. I got sick only once though and that was from a kind of nut. I don't think there was anything wrong with it; my system just didn't like it. |

Rep Power: 10 | I think they have some kind of cafeteria system set up within the area they house them. Probably with chefs from all over the world. |

Rep Power: 2 | I wouldn't want to be in Aramark's shoes for any money.
What an un-winnable position.

Rep Power: 4 | I taught with a lady that was there for two years. She hated the food and they lacked most everything, hec, even john paper. Said when things were put on the shelves people would hord the stuff and it would dissappear.

Rep Power: 10 | I am sure that since they have had years to plan this they will have something set up for them where they can get what they would have at home. They can do it for the military these days in foreign lands even if there is a war as long as there is a permanent facility they are using in the country and it usually is fully operational within a year or two. So it can't be as difficult as that to do for an event like this, they know far in advance where they will have it in this case. |

Rep Power: 10 | Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!
When I interned for that charity a year and a half ago one of the things I did was go through their digital pictures to use in the presentation I was working on. One thing they had was pictures from a butcher (in South America) and there was 2 or 3 pictures of a decapitated pig. I noted which folder it was in, and NEVER opened that folder again.
