Mice, Garbage Shut Down Chinatown Food Store Inspectors: Live Mouse Leapt From Bamboo Displays CHICAGO (STNG) ― Food inspectors shut down a Chinatown food market Friday after finding live mice, more than 200 mouse droppings and garbage accumulation.
The city's Dumpster Task Force visited Mayflower Foods, 2104 S. Archer Ave. Friday to follow up on complaints of rodent activity in the area, according to a release from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
Upon arrival, inspectors found close to 200 mouse droppings throughout the store, including the sales area and where food is stored, the release said.
