Rep Power: 10 | Recall made after pills reported in fish Recall made after pills reported in fish By MARK SCOLFORO, Associated Press Writer 38 minutes ago HARRISBURG, Pa. - Gorton's Inc. recalled about 1,000 cases of frozen fish in 10 states on Friday after confirming that items a Pennsylvania customer reported finding in her food were pills. MORE HERE
Poorly written article but you get the idea. I know we have some PA folks here. I don't know if any of them eat frozen fried fish but I have done my civic duty. |

Rep Power: 2 | Thanks for the warning, Suzie. This happened in my area and was all over the news locally yesterday. I didn't really get the part about the little girl cooking the fish. I mean, wasn't the mom standing right there the whole time? And isn't it odd that three people found the pills in their mouths at the exact moment? Really, I'm trying hard to believe this was a hoax. I don't want to think that random things get into my food like that. It makes my stomach do flips to think of it. |

Rep Power: 10 | I know kids like fish sticks. Some parents might not eat them and just fix them for the kids, so I guess it's best for them to check. I agree that it does seem strange. |

Rep Power: 10 | We've had stories on the news regarding something similar. People are taking more and more pills, they use the bathroom, the water somehow finds it way to our rivers and the fish ingest all these medications.
Gross, huh?

Rep Power: 3 | Ok..at one time I worked in a produce processing plant. We bagged retail and commercial items (i.e. lettuce, slaw, etc.) Anyway, one of the workers thought it was cute to drop aspirins in the produce. Course nothing we had at the time would catch it. Course it got very crazy and finally we went to cameras. And yes we got HER.

Rep Power: 2 | It is safe to go back into the water. The kid who cooked the fish added the herbal supplement pills to it. Mama is terribly sorry, of course. I knew there was something shaky when even the initial reports specifically said that the kid had cooked the fish. Hard to believe she didn't confess when being taken to the hospital, when being questioned by the local police, when being questioned by the FBI. No criminal charges are being filed because there was no intent to harm others. But what about Gordons who lost so much in reputation? Sorry, so terribly sorry, is all they get. |

Rep Power: 10 | Yes this is sad for the company. Everyone usually hears the bad stuff, but retractions get a tiny spot on some back page somewhere. |

They were very clear in saying that the pills were added AFTER packaging and the manufacturer was cleared of any changes.
I don't know how it played in the national news.

Rep Power: 10 | That's good. I hope they didn't list the store where it was purchased, that would be a suspicious note for them as well up till they found out it happened after the food was already in the buyers home. |
