I swear last year I could pick up a dozen eggs in Wisconsin for less than a dollar. Two weeks ago at the store it was over two dollars.

I think I was complaining about the egg prices in Chicagoland at Christmas time, I haven't seen what they are now.

I think they raise the price around Easter because they know people will buy them even if they are a bit more for the Easter traditions.

Maybe. I'll have to see what they are next time I go.

Maybe they're just raising the prices every time I go to look at eggs.

Eggs have been well over $2.00 for a while now, it was just a little over a year ago that I could get them for under a dollar as well.

I paid $2.79 for JUMBO organic eggs yesterday. They are HUGE, but I think well worth it. If I bought a coffee at a shop, I would have spent a lot more and only had one coffee...but with the eggs, I have 12 servings.

People will start having to get back to basics. To keep costs down, baking your own homemade bread isn't hard but keeping a cow and a hen house in our back yards????

It's just the opposite here. We can always count on lower prices the few weeks before Easter. I remember getting them for $.69 a dozen but that was when they were only regularly $.99. That said, I haven't bought them in a few weeks and when I was grocery shopping this past week, the price of a dozen was $2.69 and were 'on sale' for 2/$5, so the price I gave earlier of $2.33 is just a memory.

Yep, used as a lost leader here as well. Stock up!

There are several new ethanol plants in the west that are not going to open, for obviouse reasons. This whole idea was given such little thought and driven by, well I won't say. But reality has set in...WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CHEAP GAS???

Oh, Berry I totally agree, they are still cheap.
