LOS ANGELES (March 26) - Herb Peterson, who invented the ubiquitous Egg McMuffin as a way to introduce breakfast to McDonald's restaurants, has died, a Southern California McDonald's official said Wednesday. He was 89.

I hope he was able to spend his $'s before he died.

From what I recall of the story, he didn't get compensation for the creation of the EggMcMuffin, just the verbal recognition.

Does anyone know if this is accurate?
