Spice Up Your Life: Healthy alternatives to salty foods are in the grocery aisle

Spice Up Your Life: Healthy alternatives to salty foods are in the grocery aisle

I love Chipotle. My burrito of choice: chicken with rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and medium green salsa.
In fact, I’ve been there over seven times in the past two weeks (awesome for my calorie count, right?). The spices are to die for, each bite a “flavor explosion” as Food Network’s Guy Fieri would say.

So to save on sodium, the writer recommends eating pasta salads made with olives, parmesan cheese, ham and salami, using Italian seasoning packets to make the dressing? I have no words. Where is Gordon Ramsay when I need him!

Thanks funny! There is so much sodium in all those items that you would be better off eliminating them and adding your own salt.

Here's are simple ingredients I use in a fast pasta salad....pasta (of course), canned, drained artichoke hearts cut into pieces, fresh grape tomatoes, one stalk of celery chopped, a little red wine or balsamic vinegar and olive oil...a tad of salt and pepper. Delicious and simple!
