Cookbook touts Dollar Store Gourmet

I always check the dates on things I buy at the Dollar Store, even toothpaste.
There are a few other deep, discount stores around here. They are fun to browse around and I sometimes find great deals. Again, many times the product is past expiration. The store says it is still good, but I have to wonder about that.

Ours doesn't have brand names, some of it isn't even packaged in English. The China product scare goes to a whole new level there.

Now that I think of it, I bought aluminum foil there once. Didn't notice that writing was all in Asian...not sure if it was Chinese or Japanese. My husband looked at it and said, "Where did you get this?" After that I check everything before buying.

Yeah if you can't read it you never know. It might be lead foil.
